Langley uses a social and emotional program called Conscious Discipline as part of its mission to educate the whole child. Students, teachers, staff, and parents learn these important skills to foster the ideal learning environment where every member feels calm, safe, and loved.
Conscious Discipline training gives educators the tools to create this environment within their diverse classrooms. Children are empowered to own their feelings and become skillful in assertive communication and problem solving. This helps them to thrive academically, and to be caring and responsible individuals both at school and at home.
Our Conscious Discipline coach also works with teachers, staff, and parents to help them increase their emotional intelligence and more effectively teach and nurture the children. At Langley, you will see an emphasis on empathy, routines to self-regulate emotions, connection with others, and students making commitments to do their very best.
